Overview

Serves: /scholarships (nid 81). Use it for any hub that lists a family of child pages in groups. Base page: /scholarships, copy as on prod 2026-10-14. Page kind: conversion. All recipes

How to use this recipe: it shows a proven page shape, not a fixed template. Start from the closest recipe, choose the components that fit the content, combine them as needed and leave out what does not fit. Only the component rules are fixed: grounds, one gold element per viewport, heading order, marks and the rules on each component page.

Sections of the base page (ground in brackets):

Page head [soft]: eyebrow, H1, lead, one button. Printed by the template, not the body field.
Anchor nav [white, compact band]: “On this page”, one link per band below.
Programs [soft]: band head, note callout, group nav, then one h3 group per category with a link-card grid, then two callouts.
How to apply [white]: steps (4), warning callout.
Giving [navy]: single stat.
Recipients [soft]: recipient cards (3), a link row.
Milestones [white]: media cards (photos of members in regalia), one button, one link, fine print.
FAQ [soft]: accordion (6 or more questions).
Articles [white]: link-card grid.
Videos [soft]: member cards with two links (story and video), a link row.
Disclosures [white]: disclosure.
CTA band [navy]: the closing band.

Components: page-head, band, heading, eyebrow, anchor-nav, card (basic, link, media), callout (note, warning), steps, stat, member-card --recipient and --links, avatar --initials, qa --accordion, prose, fine print, disclosure, link-row, button, link, cta-band.

Rules:

One button per band. Every other route is .hs-link.
Grounds rotate; no two neighbouring bands share a ground. Navy only for the stat band and the CTA band.
Every band carries data-section; every button, text link and link card carries data-ph-capture-attribute-cta and -cta-loc (the band slug).
A link card is one <a>: no “View requirements” label inside it.
Headings: the page head has the only H1. Bands open with h2, groups use h3, cards under a group use h4.
full_html turns a newline between inline elements into <br>. Keep each paragraph, link card and link row on one line.

How to apply for an Honor Society® scholarship

A thoughtful application starts with the instructions for that specific award.

Choose your scholarship
Read the program page. Check the award’s focus, eligibility, deadline, and application instructions before you begin.
Prepare your materials
Write down the prompt and word limit. Draft your answers in a document you can save, and gather transcripts, videos, or other materials when requested.
Sign in when prompted
Open the application from the program page. If the form asks you to sign in or register, do that first. Registration is free; premium membership is not required.
Review and submit
Answer the specific questions, verify your contact details and attachments, and submit through the designated application. Save a copy and any confirmation you receive.

Save your work before you submit.

Some applications, including the John Young scholarship form, warn that answers entered before signing in can be lost. Sign in first and keep a separate draft.

Who can apply?

Honor Society® scholarship applications are open to eligible applicants. Requirements vary by award and can involve educational stage, GPA, interests, residency, or other criteria. Read the program page before applying.

Do all scholarships require a high GPA?

No single GPA requirement applies across every program listed here. Some awards have specific GPA criteria; others focus on leadership, service, writing, or personal goals. Each scholarship’s complete rules determine eligibility.

Where can I find deadlines and application links?

Open the individual scholarship page using the links above. It contains the application link and published timing. If a date or instruction is unclear, visit the Honor Society Help Center before submitting.

Does applying or joining guarantee an award?

Notes

Changes from the prod page (structure, not copy):

The hero h2 “Scholarships for your next chapter.” has no place in the page head (one H1, which is the node title “Scholarships”). Keep it out, or make it the H1.
The featured award card (John Young, $1,000) left the hero: the page head holds no card. The award is in the “Your passion” group.
“How to apply” left the page head: the anchor nav carries it. Arrows (↓ → ↑) left every label.
“View requirements” left every card: the whole card is the link.
The CTA band moved to the end, after Disclosures, Articles and Videos: the CTA band is the closing band, so it closes the page.
Six FAQ cards became an accordion (8 questions; 6 or more at the foot of a long page).
Video cards: the school line left each card (the two-link card holds the award, the name and the video link). The name now links to the story.

Copy issues (kept as written):

Banned nouns: “opportunities” (directory callout, Disclaimers, stat lead), “resource” (Disclaimers), “more” (“Looking for more opportunities?”, “More recipient stories”).
“premium membership” (step 3): house style names the paid side Professional Track™.
“Join now” is not the house CTA label “Start Free Membership”.
“Student Spotlight Scholarship” links to /member-spotlight-scholarship and a recipient card says “Member Spotlight Scholarship”: one award, two names.

Figures: “$1M+” / “more than $1 million” is not in site facts. It shows here as a marked placeholder in brackets. Award amounts ($1,000 to $5,000) come from the award pages, not site facts; they change with the award pages.

Dynamic parts that need code:

Page head: hs_html_page has no eyebrow, lead or button fields, and its template prints a bare <h1>. The template must render hs_core_page_head before the body.
The template wraps the body in .generic-container. Bands must span the viewport: print the body outside that column, or give every band hs-band--bleed.
JSON-LD (WebPage and BreadcrumbList) is keyed on nid 81 in node--generic-page.tpl.php. Keep nid 81 or move the schema to code. FAQPage schema can come from the accordion.
“20 scholarship programs” is a count in copy; it drifts when an award opens or closes.

The hs_mcp validator must allow:

<nav> (anchor nav and group nav).
data-section with a slug value. Today a data-* attribute other than the two PostHog ones must be a number.
Class-based styling, and the guide must drop “no class-based styling, no flexbox or grid”.
Already allowed and used here: details, summary, section, header, footer, aria-*, loading. Never use the open attribute or decoding: both are rejected.

Missing components:

Photo strip: the member photos use media cards. The prod images are 310×275 PNGs; the media card crops them to 4:3 and stretches them to the card width.
Broken on prod today: 5 of the 6 milestone photo URLs return 404. Only one photo loads.
Card icons and callout icons are inline SVG, and the validator has no <svg>. They are left out.
