Overview

Serves: /study-abroad-scholarship (nid 22) and its about 20 sibling award pages (one page per Honor Society® scholarship). Base page: /study-abroad-scholarship, copy as on prod 2026-10-14. Page kind: conversion. All recipes

How to use this recipe: it shows a proven page shape, not a fixed template. Start from the closest recipe, choose the components that fit the content, combine them as needed and leave out what does not fit. Only the component rules are fixed: grounds, one gold element per viewport, heading order, marks and the rules on each component page.

Sections of the base page (ground in brackets):

  1. Award hero [navy]: breadcrumb, eyebrow, H1, lead, facts, deadline card with the one Apply button. Printed by the template, not the body field.
  2. Anchor nav [white, compact band]: directly after the hero. The band after the award hero pads back the card overhang (an award-hero rule).
  3. Requirements [soft]: band head, two basic cards (who can apply, checklist), one line of copy, note callout.
  4. How to apply [white]: steps (3), one text link.
  5. Selection [soft]: band head, two basic cards, terms link.
  6. Recipients [white]: recipient cards (3), a link list of videos, a link row.
  7. Giving [navy]: single stat, fine print. Placeholder figure.
  8. Related scholarships [soft]: link cards (4, two columns), a link row.
  9. FAQ [white]: accordion (7 questions).
  10. Terms [soft]: disclosure.
  11. Articles and videos [white]: link cards (3), one text link.
  12. CTA band [navy]: the closing band. Repeats the Apply button.

Components: award-hero, breadcrumb, band, heading, eyebrow, anchor-nav, card (basic, link), callout (note, warning), steps, stat, member-card --recipient, avatar --initials, qa --accordion, prose, link-list, link-row, fine print, disclosure, button, link, cta-band. A two-step trail uses back-link in place of the breadcrumb.

  • Who can apply?

    • Open to all applicants who meet the published requirements.
    • Describe a planned study abroad program, including its dates.
    • Enrollment in the described program must be confirmed before scholarship funds are released.
    • Applicants should be comfortable providing a video and/or written testimonial about their program and the scholarship.
  • Your application checklist

    1. Your program plan. Describe the planned study abroad program, include its dates, and explain why you chose it.
    2. A response of up to 500 words. Explain the relevance of the program to your major, life, or goals.
    3. Current transcript. An unofficial transcript is accepted when applying. The selected recipient must provide an official transcript before scholarship disbursement.

The application also asks for your current GPA, school, email, and phone number. Keep your program information consistent across your responses.

Connect the destination to your goals

Describe the courses, experiences, or skills you hope to gain. Explain why this particular program fits your plans, and check that your program dates are accurate. Keep enrollment documentation available for the award review.

How to apply

  1. Sign in before you start

Open the Study Abroad application and sign in or register before entering answers. Signing in after completing the form can cause your answers to be lost.

  2. Prepare your materials

Prepare your program description and dates, your response of up to 500 words, and your current GPA and transcript. Keep a separate copy of your work.

  3. Review & submit

Check your responses, contact details, and attachments. Submit through the application form by the displayed deadline and keep a copy of your materials.

Selection & announcement timeline

Rolling monthly deadlines on the 28th. Prepare early so you can submit a complete, thoughtful application.

  • How applications are evaluated

Applications are scored with a rubric based on program relevance and academic achievement. If applicants are tied, the winner is selected at random from the tied applicants. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee selection.

  • When recipients hear back

    • Within 3 weeks of selection: selected recipients can first expect to hear from Honor Society.
    • Within 6 weeks: recipients are publicly announced on the website, in the monthly newsletter, and through social media.
    • Up to 3 months after submission: your application remains under consideration. You may submit an updated application after 3 or more months.
